About us
We are a unit of the National PTA and the New York State PTA.
We work to supplement and enhance the already rich experience of the students at Sherman Elementary. Our Mission aligns with that of the NYS PTA: we are a powerful voice for all children, a relevent resource for families and the community, and a strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child. If you're not already a member, we hope you consider joining. PTA membership dues are $5 and give you the ability to vote, as well as access to online resources via the State and National PTA websites. Memberships will be available from September to May for the current school year.
501(c)(3) Designation
With 501(c)(3) status we are officially a not-for-profit organization operating exclusively for educational and charitable purposes.
State & Federal Advocacy
Since 1897, NYS PTA has been an active advocate at a state and federal level when help is needed on issues important to children, schools and families.
Access to Resources
From online parenting resources, to idea collaboration and networking with other PTAs, the State and National PTA websites contain a wealth of valuable information.
